A sea cave on the Sinis coast

For Explorers

A month in Cuglieri, fully funded.

No Explorer ever pays. Accepted residents are fully funded — lodging, meals, local transportation, cultural experiences, program management. We hold the logistics so you can hold the work.

Applications

Rolling

Submit any time. We read applications as they arrive — your timing is up to you.

Decisions

Twice a year

We convene the selection committee in late spring and late autumn — two cohort decisions a year, six Explorers each.

Residencies

Sept – May

Nine cohorts per year at full capacity. Each cohort spends 25 days in residence. You commit to all of them.

The roof garden

Three stages

We curate. We don't rank.

How we choose

A gathering. A weaving. An invitation.

01

The Gathering

Submit a brief written application or accept a partner nomination. Five short questions about what you're exploring, what you'd bring to a cohort, and what you'd hope to do with a month in Cuglieri.

02

The Weaving

Our selection team reviews applications for the five qualities and for cohort chemistry — disciplinary diversity, career stage, the 3·2·1 ratio. We curate. We don't rank.

03

The Invitation

Shortlisted Explorers join a pre-cohort video call — the Dinner Party Test. Then a personal, warm invitation. Cohort composition is shared so anticipation can begin to build.

The application

Five short questions, honest answers.

Most Explorers take about thirty minutes. Take longer if you'd like — we read carefully.

  1. 01

    What are you currently exploring?

  2. 02

How do curiosity, empathy, creativity, collaboration, and action show up in your work?

  3. 03

What do you hope to do, think about, or create during your residency?

  4. 04

How might you contribute to your cohort?

  5. 05

Is there anyone in particular you'd love to share a kitchen with for a month?

Ready

If you embody the five qualities, begin.

The form takes most Explorers about thirty minutes. Take longer if you'd like — we read carefully.
